The letters

Dear [Gordon/David/Nick]

Re : Election doodle mail chain race 2010

I am an aspiring artist and was hoping that you could help me with a project that I am working on.

I have doodled a picture of you (enclosed) and would like you to tell me (1) if you like it and (2) who in your party you think I should draw next (I will then draw them and send them a similar letter). I know that you are probably too busy to reply to this yourself but, especially in an election year, I would like to think that at least someone in your staff can write back to me with the above answers (apologies if that sounds like I'm blackmailing you with my vote, I'm not really, well maybe a little, no I'm actually not). I have enclosed a stamped, self addressed envelope so it's even easier for you.

This is a straight up race between the parties and the winner will be the chain that goes on the longest. I will be blogging the results at www.electiondoodlemailchainrace2010.blogspot.com if you want to keep an eye on how you and your rivals are getting on. The current record for a celebrity doodle mail chain is 4 (Harry Hill > Maureen Lipman > Ann Robinson > Jeremy Clarkson) let's see if we can beat that with a political one shall we?

I know that the general election is probably your greatest priority at the moment but the prospect of winning the inaugral "Election doodle mail chain race" (patent pending) must come a fairly close second.

Yours Sincerely

So far your party is in the lead (you are the second link after Mr Clegg) but I think it would be foolhardy to rest on your laurels as the other parties seem to be getting more eager, the better you look.

I know that the general election is probably your greatest priority at the moment but the prospect of winning the inaugral "Election doodle mail chain race" (patent pending) must come a fairly close second.
